Planetarium Show: 5000 EYES: MAPPING THE UNIVERSE WITH DESI

The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), which is installed on a 4-m telescope located on Kitt Peak in Arizona, uses 5000 independently operated robots to measure the light from thousands of galaxies at once. By observing galaxies across the sky, DESI has been able to create the most detailed map of the nearby universe to date, revealing its largest structures as never seen before. Public stargazing will follow evening shows, weather permitting. $2 donation suggested for all planetarium shows. Doors close 5 minutes after published showtime.
