Bowling Green’s 27th annual Art Walk is almost here! Saturday, April 27th from 11am-3pm, The BG Arts Council and Downtown Bowling Green will be hosting over 30 local artists in BG’s historic downtown. The Art Walk is free to attend, but art will be available to buy at the various locations. All proceeds from the event will benefit the artists as well as the Downtown Foundation Flower Fund to help further beautify our historic downtown. Our recommendation is to start at the Wood County District Public Library, where each participating artist will have their favorite piece on display for the judging. From there you can get a brochure to see where each artist has the rest of their works on display. Crim Elementary and Bowling Green High School will be displaying their artwork at Grounds For Thought.
There is more than just the art to show off, though! There will be live performances and raffles throughout the day. Grumpy Dave’s (above Easy Street Cafe) has a lineup of six artists from 11am-2:15pm ranging in genres from Jazz to Classic Rock and even Original Americana. From 12pm-2pm, The Stones Throw will be hosting the BGSU Concert Band playing a “Songs of the Stone” set. There will be a Gnome Show and raffle held at the Library for the duration of the Art Walk. All the gnomes were decorated by community members and are ready to be raffled off! There will be a Quilt Show at the Four Corners Center. Quilts will be on display and for sale during the show. The pictured quilt, kindly donated by the Black Swamp Quilters, will be up for raffle during the show. Raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets and can be purchased at the show locations.
The Wood County District Public Library will also be hosting an after party starting at 3:30pm. The after party is where awards and raffle winners are announced. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be live performances from the BGSU College of Musical Arts.
Downtown Bowling Green is currently seeking volunteers to greet guests and pass out brochures or help with the Gnome raffle. Any help or consideration is appreciated, just follow the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508044cada628a0f49-artwalk to get more information on available slots and their time and location. We hope to see many people come to support our local artists and Downtown district. See you there!
