About Bowling Green
Bowling Green was settled in 1832 near the center of the Great Black Swamp; a 1,500 square mile area stretching from lower Michigan through northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana. Bowling Green’s Downtown Historic District has buildings dating back to the 1800’s, known as “boom era.” The Queen Anne and Classical Revival Style acrhitecture dominates, but you can see hits of Italianate and Romanesque Revival as well, with some genuinely curious ornamentation. The overall population to include BGSU was 31,406 at the 2020 census. The city is 10 miles from end to end and within that area, there are nine city parks! For more information on the City of BG please visit BGOhio.org, for the county please visit www.woodcountyohio.gov.
