On March 10, 2020, Ohio Governor Mike Dewine held a press conference addressing the coronavirus in Ohio and advised that all large events and contact be limited. On March 11, many universities including BGSU, moved face-to-face learning to temporary online classes. Since then, we have had numerous event cancellations and regulations developing in order to keep everyone safe and minimize those that get sick. The Convention and Visitors Bureau’s goal with this post is to provide our out of town guests as well as our wonderful community members with a one stop spot to check if their event has been cancelled. The list below is what we know so far (in alphabetical order):

 

Adult Egg Scramble: Postponed and awaiting a reschedule date.

Bowling Green Care Center
: Enforcing one (1) visitor per day between the hours of 9a-11a, 1p-3p, or 6p-8p. They will have a marked designated entrance and will be checking temperatures upon arrival. For more information, click here.

 

Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce: Leadership BG course is rescheduled and awaiting a date.


Bowling Green City Schools
: School closed until April 3, 2020. All school related activities are cancelled until further notice.

 

Bowling Green Community Center: Closed until March 31st.

 

Bowling Green Country Club: Clubhouse is closed, but pro shop and golf course are still open to the public.

 

Bowling Green Covenant Church: Closed for 3 weeks. Will have worship and preachings through Facebook live at 10a each Sunday. Click here to go to their Facebook.

Bowling Green State University

Horizon Youth Theatre: Ceasing rehearsals from March 13th – 20th. Seeing if alternate arrangements can be made for some productions to resume rehearsals, need a new rehearsal space, and to see if their Festival of Shorts may need a new date.

 

League of Women Voters’ Mental Health Update: Cancelled

Wood County Committee on Aging: All 8 locations will be closing at 1p on Friday, March 13th until the end of March. For more info, click here.


Wood County District Public Library
: The Wood County District Public Library will be closed and is cancelling all public events (tutoring, story times, book discussions, etc.) at both the BG and Walbridge locations until March 31. The bookmobile will also postpone services until March 31st. Public reservations of meeting rooms, the Carter House, and other spaces until March 31st. For more information, click here.

 

Wood County Historical Center and Museum: Closed until April 30th. All tours, events, and rental reschedule dates can be found on their website.

 

Wood County Hospital: Only one (1) inpatient visitor per room who is above 18 years old. Outpatient visitors must be 18 years or older (unless receiving testing). To view the entire temporary guidelines, click here.

 

Wood County Park District: All events are cancelled until the end of March. All parks will remain open.

 

Wood County Safety Council’s April Awards Meeting: Cancelled

: Improvaneer Workshop and Performance/Provider Showcase, Best Buddies Leadership Training, Community Conversations-Lead with Inclusion are all currently cancelled, but hoping to reschedule.

 

Youth Volleyball Skills Clinics and Leagues (practices and games): Postponed and awaiting a reschedule date.
