Firefly Nights is back! If you’re looking for a fun way to kick off Summer, join Firefly Nights for their 5k run and walk! The run and walk kicks off the street festival series, and serves as a fundraiser for the events. The 5k takes place on Friday, May 17th at 9pm and will begin and end behind the Wood County District Public Library. Current cost to enter the 5k is $25 and the price will increase the day of the event. There will be awards in Downtown Dollars for the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Packets for race registration can be found at Coyote Beads, Eden Fashion Boutique, Grounds for Thought, and Mode Elle Boutique or you can register online by clicking the link: http://ow.ly/Vfbp30oIFzw. Chip timing is provided by Dave’s Running shop and after race snacks will be provided by Qdoba of Downtown BG.

Firefly Nights, whose mission is to foster the diverse, neighborly, and lively atmosphere of Downtown BG while giving the community an opportunity to gather for fun, food and entertainment, will be held the third Friday of June, July, and August from 6-10pm. They also have a Fall Festival planned for October. Firefly Nights features include: live music, outdoor dining, shopping, vendors, a children’s area, and more!

While much of the Festival will be the same, it will only stretch from Clough to Court St. this year. Due to last year’s weather, organizers wanted to cover the stage and beer garden, so this year there will only be one of each. Performers for the June 21 Festival are: Drew Joseph, Vester Frey, The Barn Cats, and Corduroy Road.

More information will be announced as the Festival dates draw closer. To stay informed on everything Firefly Nights, follow them on Facebook and Instagram or go to their website, fireflynightsbg.com. We hope to see all of you Fireflies at the Festival and enjoying everything Downtown BG has to offer!
